Getting Started

Installation

Rxx consists of a single class library that you can reference in your applications. There is no installer or setup program, only the Rxx.dll file.

Rxx.dll can be obtained in two ways:
  1. Download from CodePlex.
  2. Download from NuGet.

How to install Rxx from CodePlex:

  1. Download the latest version of Rxx from CodePlex: http://rxx.codeplex.com/releases
  2. Read the latest Release Notes for Rxx.
  3. Download the latest compatible release of Microsoft's Reactive Extensions (Rx).
  4. Open your existing project in Visual Studio.
  5. Add an assembly reference to System.Reactive.dll.
  6. Add an assembly reference to Rxx.dll.
Additional Dependencies
  1. Add an assembly reference to Microsoft.Contracts.dll in Windows Phone applications.
  2. Add an assembly reference to System.Windows.Interactivity.dll in Silverlight 4 applications that use the EventSubscription class.

How to install Rxx from NuGet:

If you don't have NuGet installed, then install it from Visual Studio's Extension Manager or download it from CodePlex: http://nuget.codeplex.com
  1. Read the latest Release Notes for Rxx.
  2. Open your existing project in Visual Studio.
  3. Search for Rxx or Rxx_Experimental in NuGet's Add Package Reference dialog.
    1. Alternatively, use the NuGet command-line program or directly download Rxx from NuGet: http://nuget.org/List/Packages/Rxx
When you add a package reference to Rxx, NuGet will automatically download the latest compatible version of Microsoft's Reactive Extensions (Rx) from NuGet and add an assembly reference for you. You will also be notified about any updates to the Rxx or Rx packages each time that you open the Manage NuGet Packages dialog.
